Rebuttal Reply to anti- masturbation web page-- Masturbation and the Bible
Letter To Anti-masturbation teachers. Email this to every
anti-masturbation teacher you know. Thanks. I can clearly show you that with your anti-masturbation teaching that you are harming and hurting God, others, and yourself. Because masturbation affects 94%
of the population it affects almost everyone. So anti-masturbation teaching
affects most all people in a negative way. Make sure you are 100% right because
of all the harm you cause people. You are doing the opposite of
the Law of love. You are harming and hurting Pastors, Christianity, the free
gift of the Gospel to free gift of masturbation sexual enjoyment, that God
gives to all, just like rain, sunshine, etc.
You are unknowingly promoting the Gnostic Cultic Heresy that says the
body or flesh is evil. You are harming many namely: children, singles, widows, handicaps, and the
married. You are unknowingly promoting divorces, pain, torture, depression, and
torment, self hatred, hatred for others and hatred for God. With your anti-masturbation
teaching you are using bad Bible hermeneutics, taking scriptures out of
context, use wrong definitions of terms, using faulty logic because the same
lust, feelings, fantasies, sexual desires, body, mind, and soul are active in
both masturbation and in sexual intercourse. To take verses out context to condemn masturbation, if you are
consistent in your logic, you are unknowingly also condemn sex in marriage.
Your teachings goes against Gods design of sexuality and God giving
masturbation as free gift to all, not just the few happily married couples. You are violating a basic
concept of, If the Bible is silence on something then you should also be
silence on it. Not one of the 40 plus
Bible authors called masturbation a
sin. Jesus did not call it a sin. When you disagree with them you are disagree God
sexual design, which he said, was very good. Gen 1:31. Masturbation is not a new invention, it has
been around since Adam and Eve. All Bible author and Jesus were well aware of
masturbation and did not call it a sin. Even as Paul was thinking he was obedience to God and serving God
the best he knew by killing Christians; you are doing a little similar to Paul.
People have committed suicide, develop major depression, they do not forgive
themselves, they have cut off their hands, cut off their penis, cut themselves,
have caused major man made guilt trip.
Pastors have quit their ministries, people avoid witnessing to others
from their own man made taught shame and man made guilt. Your anti-masturbation teaching cause many to have a defeated
Christians attitude to cause people to quit churches, quit God and quit
Christianity. Decision Survey of Christian
teens 12-16, show that 75% did not think they could keep up with the Christian
standard and that it was not working for them. They had a defected attitude. If
you stop and think what could cause that, you would find a big cause behind
this would be masturbation and their sex drive. They had man made shame and guilt over masturbation and felt
defeated in their Christian life. By College, many give up on Christianity
because of their God given sex drive. I can clearly show and prove to
you all this and show you the great harm to God, others, and yourself that you
are doing with you anti-masturbation teaching. First I will show a few examples
of suicide as a result of anti-masturbation teaching. Major of suicide connected to
this never comes out in the open, but here are 2 that did come out in the open. I heard this true story while at
Bible College. One of the student, who had no visible sin in his life, follow
Matthew 5:28-30 if your hand offends thee, cut it off went over to and island in the river and with an ax cut off his
hand. As a result he bleed to death. The only thing anyone one could think of
was his guilt over masturbation. He was a student preparing to be a Christian
Pastor. So anti-masturbation kills a
Christian and his potential of
becoming a pastor. Matt. 5:28 is totally misunderstood and taken out of context. "look at a women with lust...adultery" http://inkaboutit.homestead.com/Lustmt528.html From forums I have read
Christian Pastors in the ministry quitting their ministry just because they
could not stop masturbation so they resigned from being a Pastor. Part

& Death in Mormon Country: A Latter-day Tragedy By
Mark A. Taylor* On March 2, 1982, Kip Eliason, age 16, distraught and filled with
self-hate over his inability to stop masturbating, committed suicide. Before
asphyxiating himself, Kip left his father a note: "Dear
Dad, "I
love you more than what words can say. If it were possible, I would stay alive for
only you, for I really only have you. But it isn't possible. I must first love
myself, and I do not. The strange feeling of darkness and self-hate overpowers
all my defenses. I must unfortunately yield to it. This turbulent feeling is
only for a few to truly understand. I feel that you do not comprehend the
immense feeling of serf-hatred I have. This is the only way I feel that I can
relieve myself of these feelings now. Carry on with your life and be happy. I
love you more than words can say. "--Your
son, Kip Kip Eliason's five-year struggle to overcome masturbation started at
age 11 when his grandmother persuaded him to join the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints. These
are only a few samples of killing people with the anti-masturbation teaching.
There are many others that no one ever hears of or never get on the front page
of the newspaper. Anti-masturbation
teaching does great harm to Children as James Dobson points out. Part

"I
don't believe a loving God would put a raging fire in an immature kid and then
damn him for doing what he can't help doing"Dr James Dobson "Focus on
the Family"(5) Surveys
have consistently shown that more than 95% of males engage in masturbation,
particularly during adolescence. (Some say the remainder are lying!) Dr Dobson
of "Focus on the Family" notes that there is absolutely no
controversy on these figures from any source! Dr James Dobson from "Focus on the Family" writes:
"It is my opinion that masturbation is not much of an issue with God. It
is a normal part of adolescence which involves no one else. It does not cause
disease. It does not produce babies, and Jesus did not mention it in the Bible.
I'm not telling you to masturbate, and I hope you won't feel the need for it. But
if you do, it is my opinion that you should not struggle with guilt over it.
Why do I tell you this? Because I deal with so many Christian young people who
are torn apart with guilt over masturbation; they want to stop and just can't.
I would like to help you avoid that agony." (5) Dr
James Dobson in his video "Peer Pressure and Sexuality" explains that
over time, the hormonal pressure inside a boy can increase to the point where
even a girl simply walking into the room can trigger off an irreversible chain
of events in his mind. The desire for sexual expression becomes so strong that
he invariably masturbates resulting in the hormonal pressure then dropping
again. Over
time, the sexual pressure builds again and the boy will feel compelled to
express the sexual pressure in his body again no matter how strong his
determination was to 'never do it again'. (paraphrased from the video) The best advice seems to be that if a boy finds the need to
masturbate, then to accept it as a normal part of his being. Dr. James Dobson says that boys from Christian / church backgrounds
often have additional problems with masturbation. Since boys from these
backgrounds are taught that there is an after-life and they will be held
accountable for their life here on earth, many become plagued with unrelenting
guilt over masturbation. He
goes on to say that many boys (including Christians) find masturbation
absolutely uncontrollable. The boy feels he has sinned and asks God to forgive
him and promises not to do it again. Sooner or later though, the accumulating
hormonal pressure becomes all encompassing and he will find he is unable to
keep his promise to God. What does a boy say to God on the 300th time he has failed to live
up to his promise to stop? This boy is in incredible pain. He feels bad about
himself and "those" thoughts and guilt that don't stop even when he
is church! The pain becomes so great that we lose the young man to the church
and to God because he simply has to escape from it. Dr Dobson summarizes with the statement: "Masturbation is all
encompassing!" Boys and parents need to understand that masturbation (in
Dr. Dobson's words) "is a inevitable developmental stage - it is going to
happen!" He concludes with the statement: "If it happens to you, I
wouldn't worry too much about it because I don't think it has much to do with
your relationship to God" Part

stressing over this issue feeling so much guilt and shame. I used to be so
obsessed with this issue, I prayed, fasted, did cold showers and anything else
I could think of to break free. I would have victory for a while but always
seemed to end up falling at some point. I actually did go 15 months in 1994-95
without masturbating, but eventually fell. The first 2 to 3 months was hell,
then it got easy to go without. I could not figure out a way to stop for life and I had been
struggling with this issue for 15 years by that time. I changed my opinion about
a year ago. I just started to realize that it was so stupid to obsess over this
issue. I honestly feel that God does understand and that it is an acceptable
form of release. Part

Stories about What Christian Women think about Masturbation. #1 ...I am a 22 year old female that has been masturbating for quite a
while now. I started when I was 12 years. I have been a born again Christian
since the summer of 1992. After I became a Christian I started to feel deeply
ashamed. The shame was so intense that I never told anyone about my behavior.
But I continued to do it. I was afraid to tell my female Christians. Not
because I didn't think I could trust them, but because I was afraid of how they
would react. So I kept silent. ...A couple of days ago, I was talking with a close friend of mine.
She's married and a very strong Christian. She is also not afraid to confront
me when I need it. So I wanted to hear her opinion on the topic of
masturbation. I asked her point blank if she thought masturbation is a sin.
Much to my shock and amazement she told me that she didn't think it was. I was
speechless. So I quested her about it.... I truly believe that in my situation
I am not sinning when I masturbate. Here are some reasons why I say that....
...The friend I mentioned earlier is married and she admits that she also
masturbates. She has not denied her husband sexually in any way.... # 2 After
reading the many posts and responses on this page I'm amazed at some of the
narrow mindedness of some people. First
off, Is it better that a single person mb to relieve sexual tension or to go
out and do the actual sin of having sex outside of the boundaries of marriage?? I was
recently a youth/college worker within my church and I've seen youth struggle
with their sexuality, as I have too as a single person. God
gave us a sex drive for a reason. He meant for us to enjoy sex to the fullest
extent with the person we marry. But for some of us, we choose to pursue other
areas of our life before we are ready to settle down and get married. And for
others, we're just to young to get married...besides..why get married just so
you can have sex, isn't that an even greater sin in itself? ...As
far as I'm concerned, it is much better to mb then to go out and have sex.
There is no scripture or even a hint in any passage in the Bible...where is the
sin?... People
in the church spend far too much time trying to remove our God-given sexuality
and making us feel guilty for things that aren't wrong.... You can argue about
"our body the temple" and "defiling the marriage bed" but
that does not prove that it is wrong.... ...Masturbation
is a way to stop us from actually defiling the marriage bed and I would much
rather mb then to sin against God and my future husband by having sex outside
of the marriage vows.... #3 J... I am a 31 year old woman and I have masturbated since I was
about 6 years old. There was a time in junior high when I was masturbating 3-4
times a day.... I came from a very strong Christian home. I told my generally
loving parents about this when I was 13 years old and my father told me that I
was a nymphomaniac and basically made me feel disgusting. So, after when I was
16 I began experimenting sexually because I figured that my father was right
and that I would have no way of controlling myself.... Well, after a few years of unhappiness, I read a book by James
Dobson which had some very understanding comments about masturbation. It
totally changed me and helped me to realize that masturbation wasn't the
sin,... Part

Stories about What Christian Women think about Masturbation. What if your spouse physically can't due to permanent injury or
some such? Does this mean that the still able should never again attain
"release"? If that is where God puts him, huh? What about reading too much into the bible or over-interpreting. If
God had wanted to forbid this act completely wouldn't He have said so plainly? Instead He teaches us the correct spirit for us to take. It is
wrong for me to do so because it takes away from my spouse. It is selfishness.
But for the person who does it because their spouse no longer can, who is being
hurt by his/her doing so? It keeps the marriage together, keeps from involving others in our
marriages (sexually) and somewhat lessens the pain/guilt that the unable spouse
must feel. Or at least I would think it would. It would be the selfish thing to get divorced and/or take a lover.
Or to go completely without and get yourself all stressed out creating anger
and resentment that will undoubtedly affect the unable spouse. I just would like to see where in the bible it says that the act
itself is against God. I'm not saying that it doesn't say so, I'm always
missing stuff or not getting it in the Bible, but I haven't seen anything yet
to convince me that masturbation is a sin in itself. Part of Archives. http://www.raw-psych.com/bio.html By topper “ I was about 12 ...when everyone left the home I took off my pants
and held my penis real tight and began to "pull it", as they say.
Wow! it kind of scared me but felt terribly good. I felt I was a mortal sinner
after I came and had to confess...unfortunately, this began a serious
disturbance in my conscience as a Catholic altar boy...I so much wish in
retrospect I had had a therapist or older male to help me sort out my feelings
and not condemn myself.” One of the most wonderful gifts God has given us freely is sexual
enjoyment. Just like rain and sunshine he give gifts to all people freely. With anti-masturbation teaching you try to take this gift away
from people. You are trying to call God’s wonderful gift a curse and call it
evil, when it is God designed and He said it is very good. Salvation is a free gift that Jesus paid for in full on the cross
and God offer to us as a free gift people try to tell you that you have to earn heaven by working hard to earn
it for yourself. They turn a gift into a curse or an offence. You are doing a similar thing with the free gift of sexuality
enjoyment to all, you are trying to turn it into a curse and torment. God gives many free gifts to all of us to
show his love and mercy and so they will accept his salvation as a free gift. You take away many peoples free gift of sex and tell people they
can’t have any unless they pay for it with marriage. Masturbation is a free
gift for all to enjoy, singles, handicaps, widows, elderly, married, not just a
few married people. A free gift from God himself to accept freely with no man
made shame or guilt. With your
anti-masturbation teaching you are using bad Bible hermeneutics, taking
scriptures out of context, using wrong definitions of terms, misusing the Bible
to support the Gnostic Cultic Heresy, using faulty logic because the same lust,
feelings, sexual desires, body, mind, and soul are active in both masturbation
solo and in partner sexual intercourse. So to condemn masturbation you are
condemn all sexuality that God designed and said was very good. You can’t use
logic for one and then say it does not apply to the other when it does apply. Sexual lust is an
important part of God’s design. If you are condemning sexual lust in solo sex,
you are also condemning sexual lust in partner sex. People want to condemn
lust, so they go to the Bible and take
out of context the “lust” verses and then say that only applies to masturbation
lust and not to married sexual lust. They make up their definition as they go
along. Even when the Bible verse was not even refer sexual lust but some other
kind of lust. For example 2 Tim 2:22 “Flee youthful lust.” they assume it is
“sexual lust”, when it is not. Sexual lust is not evil, it is God’s designed,
and it is not only a youthful thing, it
is for all ages. The Bible says
Jesus lusted. There are good lust and evil lust. Don’t assume all lust are evil
and don’t assume sexual lust is evil.
Don’t assume every time lust is used in the Bible it is talking about
sexual lust. Remember part of God design is sexual lust and God said it was
good. Matt 5:28 - 30 is
greatly misunderstood because of wrong definition of terms and taking it out of
context and not clearly understand the situation and setting and who Jesus was
talking to and why. This has cause wrong conclusion of Mat 5:28 - 30 and wrong conclusion
about sexual lust. It is a major contradiction to God sexual design. Sexual
lust attracts people to one another. Matt. 5:28-30 is
totally misunderstood and taken out of context. "look at a women with
lust...adultery" http://inkaboutit.homestead.com/Lustmt528.html Take a look at some
very sexy verses from the Song of Song. Song of Songs is a very sexy and lusty book
in the Bible which most preaches avoid or if they read it they change it all
around to try to make it mean something else. http://inkaboutit.homestead.com/sos.html Selfish desires are in both solo and partner
sex, we just need to apply the law of love the best we can. We also need to
think of other also. It is not evil to think to meet our needs, but it better
to meet our needs and others needs also. If you only feed others only and never
feed yourself you will die and what good are you to anyone else then? We do things
because we get a benefit for ourselves. If we did not we would sooner or later
stop doing it. To say a person who masturbates is doing self gratification and
to say they are not getting self gratification doing partner sex is faulty
logic. Self gratification is involved in both. Self gratification is not
necessarily evil, it may be needed and very important to do at times. Isn’t
eating food, going to the toilet, drinking water, breathing air etc all for
self gratification? Eph. 5: “28 In
the same way, husbands should love their wives as they love their own bodies.
The man who loves his wife loves himself. 29 No one ever
hates his own body, but feeds and takes care of it…33 But
each one of you must love his wife as he loves himself, and a wife must respect
her husband. Eph 5:28 So husbands ought to love
their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For
no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, You don’t study
the true context and background of the Bible text. You use wrong definition of
sexual terms, fornication, adultery, lust, flesh, and others. If you try to apply your wrong definition to
all verses with that word in it you soon find it does not fit at all. For
example: Adultery, if you think sex is the focus of adultery and you try to
inject that definition into all the Bible verses that have adultery in it you
soon will see it does not work. But if you use betrayal as the focus of
adultery you will see it fits in all the Bible verses with adultery in it. What is the
definition of fornication?

and if taken out of context or use the wrong definition can come up with the
wrong conclusions. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we
beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of
grace and truth. Gal 6:8 For he that soweth to his
flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit
shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. Gal 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against
the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to
the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. 18 But
if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. 19 Now

uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft,
