From: http://www.marys-place.com/mary/preview/mary4.html Is Masturbation Healthy?
Don't you wonder why we never see newspaper headlines about the health benefits of masturbation? Every month you hear of a study proving that a daily glass of wine or a brisk walk through the park is good for the heart. Considering how the media loves sex, it's surprising that we haven't seen the headline "Study Shows Daily Masturbation Reduces Stress, Invigorates Heart, and Prolongs Life." It's just another example of the taboo shrouding this simple sexual activity, because all of that is true! Next to running, masturbation is my favorite way to clear my brain. People have been obsessing for so long over the mythological health risks of masturbation that they don't stop to think about the benefits, which are numerous. Not only can it relieve stress and tension, help you sleep and alleviate menstrual cramps, but it keeps your pelvic muscles toned, it's a good cardiovascular workout, and it's probably good for your complexion! What's more, this simple act of taking responsibility for your sexual needs is bound to improve self-esteem and self-confidence. Another advantage of masturbation is that whether you're young, old, partnered or not, masturbation allows you to remain sexually active throughout your entire life! Sexuality means a lot to me in my life. It means good clean fun with not only my friends but with people I meet along the way. People are all caught up in their careers and never take enough time to enjoy themselves. They are worrying about finding dates, making a relationship and going to whole nine yards, but they tend to have trouble finding Ms/Mr. Right. They go to clubs and bars and think they are meeting the right person, but it never works that way because they are in a big hurry or the person they meet only wants a "one-niter". Then they go home and are frustrated about life and get pissed at the world. I myself masturbate at least twice a day even though I have a very active sex life. Masturbation is a not only a motion that satisfies a temporary desire for sex, but it is also good for relaxing, relieving stress and good for blood circulation...really. So masturbation is beneficial for more than one thing. Think about it....don't you feel very relaxed after a good 20 minute session. And this includes guys and girls. And oh by the way you people who have not ever tried masturbation, try it. You do not know what you are missing. There is nothing wrong with it....nothing harmful about it, and it is the greatest form of safe sex. It takes a little stimulation of the clitoris or penis, and feels great....really. there is nothing sacrilegious or degrading about it. Masturbation is exciting and worth trying. I try to masturbate in the morning right after I get up, after I get home from working out in the gym after work, and sometimes when I get in to bed for the night. I also like to masturbate for people I am with while making love and at times when I have that urge to satisfy myself anytime, no matter where I am and know I can do it without being seen. Masturbation to me is like doing drugs (which I don't do), it is something I need to keep me happy and make life more relaxing. So for those of you who have been religiously or parentally brainwashed into not masturbating, sometime when you are alone, try it....you'll love it....GUARANTEED!!!!
