I'm not debating the value of sex in marriage; what I am debating is that masturbation is okay in and outside of marriage (in the sense that there are no Biblical injunctions against it). It functions similarly both in and out of marriage in that it meets sexual needs that are not being met through intercourse. I explained that my wife and I agree that it is not only inconvenient, but it would eventually cost us our jobs, if every time I wanted it in the morning, we did it. Neither of us is hindered or hurt by my masturbation, and we're actually helped through the lack of sexual frustration.

It's a given that we're talking about our opinions here. No need to keep stating it. Ultimately, since there is no Scriptural injunction against masturbation, you nor anyone can tell me that it is definitively a sin. This is not Scriptural truth we're discussing; it is our interpretation of Scripture, which differs from person to person. And I believe that anything not explicit in Scripture cannot be expected of all believers.
